How Long Do Hair Extensions Last?
How Long Does the Hair Itself Last? in the hair industry we call that the “lifespan of the hair”. The first step in having hair extensions is buying the hair. We only offer extensions made with real human hair : Tape In, Sew In Weft, K Tip and I Tip. It is the responsibility of the client to make sure they are following the instructions given to them. Where ever we can we will always recommend Sew In extensions reason being, out of all the methods the Life Span of Sew In Weft Extension is much longer than any of the other methods (again as long as the client is doing their part). With Sew In Weft Extensions the life span is about 10 months or perhaps even longer if you are taking care of it and coming in for regular maintence. Tape In’s experience a lot of trauma when they are being maintained. As the name suggests a specifc tape is used to adhere the extension. When removing the extension the tape has to replaced and then put back into your hair. That being said Tape In life span is shorter at 6 months before the hair needs to be replaced. K - Tips are basically single use, meaning once it has been removed it is not reused. However! we are one of the few salons that will re tip the K Tip for you. This can only be done maybe one or 2 times as you are losing length as it is cut to be re tipped. That answers the question of How Long Does The Hair Last, let’s move onto how long before maintenance needs to be done on the Hair Extensions.
