Sew In

Sew In Hair Extensions

We put Sew In Hair Extensions at the top of the list because it is our favourite type of hair extension and we always recommend it where it applies as an option for you. Most hair salons in Toronto will recommend Tape-In Extensions as the first choice not because it is in fact better than Sew In but simply because they don't know how to perform Sew In Extensions.

When sewn in properly by an experienced extensionist, they cause zero damage to the natural hair and are undetectable when cut and dyed to blend. You can tie them up into a ponytail, up in a bun, shower with them and the only person who will know you have weft hair extensions in, is you.

Initial installation is swift, maintenance is even faster and more affordable. By simply removing the hair...moving the bead up...and sew the hair back in you are back to Bombshell in about an hour. The hair itself will last much much longer before needing to be replaced.

As with all types of extensions we perform: Sew - In, Tape - In, I Tip and K Tip we use quality human hair from both Bellami and Philocaly.

Prices do not include the cost of the hair itself, upon consultation we will recommend the amount hair of hair needed and the colour blend. We will then ask for a 50% deposit to order the hair for you from either Bellami or Philocaly depending on your choice.

$150 per row

Maintenance Approx. 1 hr  (every 10 to 12 weeks)

TAPE IN

The longest running option, tape-ins are the most well known hair extension on the market. Most hair salons will offer these as an option for clients due to the ease of application for the stylist.

These extensions are smaller pieces of hair coming in a variety of colours and hair types. Our preferred vendor for tape-in extensions is Bellami, offering a patented polyurethane adhesive tape keeping the extension in place through daily use including showering. A thin veil of natural hair is "sandwiched" in between two pieces of tape-in extension.

Removal involves opening the sandwiched hair, gently removing the pieces of hair extension and combing out any stickiness. The old tape is removed by hand and new tape-in applied on the pieces of extension. The re-taped extension is then put back into the clients hair and you are back to bombshell.

Initial Application Approx 2.5 hrs includes customization and blend (cut) with styling $250

Tape-In Removal Approx 30 mins $100

Maintenance: removal, re-tape, reapplication (including wash, dry dry and style) $350

I TIP

I Tip Hair Extensions are a strand by strand application, they are attached to the natural hair without using heat or glue like K Tips. I Tips are attached by threading the extension strand and a tiny amount of natural hair through a teeny tiny bead that is then clamped closed to secure the extension.

It isn't uncommon for us to use I Tips in combination with other types of extensions like Sew In. We often use Sew In to create length and volume then accent with I Tips to create framing high lights or to fill in along the hairline where the hair is thinner and finer.

Both Bellami and Philocaly carry I Tips and depending on the recommendation of our stylists we will order the I Tips from them accordingly. I Tips are sold by bundles and there is 25 grams in each bundle. The average person using ONLY I Tips will require 3 to 6 25 gram bundles.

Pricing does not include the cost of hair, after a consultation where we will make a recommendation for the purchase of hair from either Bellami. Philocally or potentially both. A 50% deposit is required for the purchase of the hair then we will order it for you.

Initial Installation Approx 4 hrs includes customization and blending (cut) $150/25 grams

Removal Approx 1 hr $100

Maintenance Approx 4 hrs bead is removed and replaced along with extension $125/25 grams

Maintenance Every 7 to 10 weeks

Hair Lifespan 12 - 15 months (dependent on proper care).

K TIP

K Tips or Keratin Tips are the most involved of all the hair extensions options and also the most costly in respects to application and actual hair. However! the look is seamless and the client can go longer without coming in for maintenance. K Tips are also single strand application however instead of using a bead a heat tool melts a tiny amount of Keratin silicone additive bonding the extension to the root of the natural hair.

K Tips are usually a one time use, meaning that the hair purchased cannot be used again once it has been removed. Not with us... we have figured out a way to reuse the hair by re-tipping it. For those of you that are using K Tips and reading this your jaw has likely dropped. Due to that, the removal and reapplication is much more involved and is a 2 day process.

Both Bellami and Philocaly carry K Tips and depending on the recommendation of our stylists we will order the K Tips from them accordingly. K Tips are sold by bundles and there are 25 grams in each bundle. The average person using ONLY K Tips will require 3 to 6 25 gram bundles.
