How Do I Maintain My Hair Extensions?
With any type of hair extension they need to be maintained in order to keep them. Most of the extensions we do are Sew in Extensions, we talk more about why here. Hair Extension maintenance is called “a move up” and with Sew In Extensions that is exactly what it is. Every 8 weeks you come in and we move up the bead that was placed back up to where it was before you hair natural hair grew. At that time we will repair any beads that need to be replaced, the weft ( that is what the Hair Extension is called when using Sew In) that has maybe become loose is fixed and any holes from the grow out are repaired. It’s important to keep your move up within the 8 weeks for the health of the natural hair. If the weight of the Weft isn’t balanced along the beads that have been placed evenly then it can pull the natural hair out leaving small bald spots. Move up’s take very little time and are much more cost effective than maintaining other types of hair extensions.
